Tree Removal
Although tree removal is a last resort, there are circumstances when it is necessary. An arborist can help decide whether a tree should be removed.
Removal is recommended when the tree is:
- Dead or dying
- Considered an unacceptable risk
- Causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through pruning
- Crowding and causing harm to other, more desirable trees
- To be replaced by a more suitable specimen
- Located in an area where new construction requires removal
Pruning
Pruning is the most common tree maintenance procedure. It is often desirable or necessary to maintain safety, improve tree structure and health, satisfy customer goals, and make the tree aesthetically pleasing.
Pruning objectives include:
- Reducing the potential for tree or branch failure
- Providing clearance
- Reducing shade and wind resistance
- Maintaining health
- Improving a view
- Improving aesthetics
Stump Grinding
After a tree is removed, the remaining stump can be unsightly and even hazardous.
Stump removal is often recommended to:
- Improve the visual appeal of your landscape
- Reclaim valuable yard space
- Eliminate tripping hazards and obstacles for mowing or landscaping
Cabling
Cabling or bracing is used to support branches with weak attachments. We install non-rigid synthetic systems, also known as dynamic cabling, which allow trees to move naturally in the wind.
This movement encourages the tree to develop stronger wood over time, improving structural integrity without restricting natural growth.
Risk Assessment
Tree risk assessment is the process of evaluating the likelihood that part or all of a tree will fail and cause damage and/or injury.
Arborists often perform tree risk assessments to:
- Enhance public safety
- Protect workers on a job site
- Promote tree longevity by predicting and preventing structural failure
